Persis seperti Animal Crossing!

Magician’s Quest adalah game unik seperti Animal Crossing dimana waktu di dalam game berjalan seperti di dunia nyata (tergantung settingan waktu NDS kita tepatnya). Sepanjang tahun, kita akan dihadapkan pada proses belajar mengajar, mengikuti kontes penyihir dan bahkan mengikuti quest-quest yang ada.

Permainan dimulai dengan wawancara terhadapmu, kamu akan ditanyakan Jenis Kelamin, Nama, Tanggal Lahir, menentukan nama sekolah, hingga mengatur penampilanmu sendiri seperti apa. Setelah itu, kamu akan dibawa ke asrama dan langsung menuju ke sekolah sihir. Di sekolah tersebut, kamu akan bertemu dengan murid-murid, belajar sihir, dan tak lupa ujian setiap selesai kelas! (walau begitu, jawabannya bisa kamu contek di layar atas).

Kontrol game ini, sama persis seperti Animal Crossing, kita bisa menggunakan D-Pad, ataupun stylus untuk menggerakkan karakter yang kamu buat sendiri. Hal lain yang meniru AC, setiap toko ada waktu sendiri saat buka dan tutup Lalu, kita bisa memodif kamar asrama kita sendiri sesuai keinginan kita. Dan juga bisa mengubah tampilan rambut, dan bajumu dengan membeli apapun di toko menggunakan Richt (mata uang game ini) yang kamu dapatkan dari quest dan menjual barang-barang yang kamu pungut. Bahkan teman-teman sekelasmu bisa saja membencimu karena kamu tidak perhatian dengan mereka. Lebih parahnya lagi, kamu juga dapat mengambil benda-benda yang kamu temukan di tanah, menangkap ikan, mengumpulkan serangga, dan lainnya.

Selain itu, setiap tanggal-tanggal tertentu, kamu dapat menemukan karakter dari pulau lain yang mungkin akan menantangmu berduel, atau bahkan malah berusaha membeli barang-barang yang kamu miliki dengan harga mahal. Kadang ada juga saat-saat tertentu dimana sesuatu yang aneh terjadi di kota dan kamu harus mengeksplorasi segala tempat untuk menilik sebab kejadian tersebut. Apabila kamu berhasil menemukan biang kerok segala macam permasalahan, kepala sekolah akan menghadiahimu sesuatu.

Namun yang membedakannya dengan AC, kamu dapat berkencan dengan teman sekelasmu. Berjuang agar menjadi murid di kelas, dan bahkan mengumpulkan bermacam-macam ikan/serangga langka yang dapat kamu masukkan ke perpustakaan kota. Disebutkan ada lebih dari 100 murid yang akan terus-terusan berpindah, dan sekolahmu sendiri hanya dapat mengajar 12 murid. Seiring berjalannya waktu, murid lain akan berpindah dan murid baru akan masuk.

Selain itu juga, karaktermu dapat berubah menjadi Wizard dengan memutar arah gerakan karakter searah jarum jam, dan dalam kondisi tersebut, kamu dapat menggunakan sihir dari mantra-mantra khusus yang kamu pelajari di sekolah nantinya.

Grafik yang persis dengan Animal Crossing, namun lebih halus sedikit. Musik sendiri, pada awalnya terkesan biasa-biasa saja dan membosankan, namun kamu bisa membeli Radio dan CD di toko, dan bahkan kalau iseng, kamu bisa saja minum-minum di bar bersama temanmu sambil mendengarkan musik pilihanmu sendiri.

Ada juga fitur Wi-Fi yang membuat kita bisa memasukkan kode teman di NDS, dan saling menukar item, masuk ke kota teman, atau bahkan menukar teman ke sekolah kita. Sangat menarik!

Game ini secara keseluruhan, sangat boleh dicoba dan dimainkan di saat kamu jenuh memainkan game lain di NDSmu. Sistem waktu yang real dengan dunia kita, membuat setiap hari di game ini terasa berbeda. Walau mendompleng kepopuleran system di AC, namun game ini bisa jadi membuatmu ketagihan, karena kamu bisa mengumpulkan uang, mencari sahabat, bahkan mengikuti event-event khusus pada tanggal tertentu setiap harinya.
